G-Men Easy Prey for Eagles

Much ado about nothingness was the main attraction in a meaningless exhibition between the New York Football Giants and The Philadelphia Eagles Sunday.  Outside of yet another Odell Beckham Jr. amazing catch, the only thing gained by NY was a better 2015 draft pick.

The Big Blue Wrecking Crew’s two Super Bowl wins under Eli Manning’s dominion did not clip the wings of determination from the birds of Philly. Moreover, if an Eagle was spotted with a Super Bowl ring, you would have to assume it was stolen. They attended two Lombardi Trophy contests but lost both.

The hawkish Eagles offense soared high racking up 34 points against the not-so-Giant defense. Although Eli tossed 429 passing yards, he threw for just one TD and one pick in his efforts. Ultimately, the effort was ‘for the birds’ – just 26 points were scored.

Looking forward to 2015, it appears that coach Coughlin will remain as commander-in-football of the Giants. The defensive regime, however, will need a transplant. This would make the second consecutive year with a major shuffling of the staff.

Is there any good news to speak of? Unequivocally yes.  NY now has a top 10 pick in the 2015 draft. In addition to that, they ended up in third place in the division, which softens the schedule next season. So, what will 2015 bring for the G-Men? Well, it cannot be any worse than this year – can it?
