The Giants must have had some turkey during halftime because it looks like the tryptophan was working during the second half...The Coughlin Curse is back on us...
With regard to a "Coughlin Curse," I've never heard the term and I don't quite understand it. The guy is 110-64 (.582) in the regular season with the Giants, having made the playoffs 4 out of 6 years with a Super Bowl victory. How is that a curse? Even if you want to establish a postulate that failing to win the Super Bowl is a curse and 31 teams are cursed every year, he's still won it once.
The Chicago Cubs have a curse. They haven't won a championship in over a century. I'll even entertain an argument that a coach like Gary Kubiak is cursed for going several years with playoff expectations without the Texans ever having made it to the post season. But you can't just say a coach is cursed when they lose without celebrating the success contained within his whole body of work. You have to give credit where it's due.
And yes, it does make this pill easier to swallow, knowing that we've won Super Bowls when the Eagles never have. Let's hope the "Andy Ried Curse" lives on! Maybe we'll even get to have a say in it?
