Special Teams play was a pleasant surprise this week. Dodge was a (dare I say?) weapon on several occasions. And where did Devin Thomas come from? He was a touted early round draft pick of the Redskins a couple of years ago. I'm sure we brought him in to share a few spy secrets...but he made three plays on special teams that reminded me of Larry Flowers and Renya Thompson. He made a stick on a kick return, covered a beautiful Dodge punt inside the 5, and made a partial block on the punt.
Special teams coming around is as sign that this team is cresting. I usually see the glass half full, but I'm more inclined to believe that we're trending upwards as opposed to heading for a letdown.
It's a team sport. Mojo is more important than one or two stars. (see also: Patriots)
