Past Still 'Dogs' Gmen After Win Over RGIII's Skins

Eeeeeeeeegs answers an email from "TopdogArchitect" who said:

"If we keep on beating good teams, how are we are going to play the underdog role anymore?!

I think this Giants team is ready to be the front runner and not have those let downs against bad teams.

I love how RGIII laid down after his “game winning” TD and grabbed his facemask, like he just won the SB.

IF he didn’t know, RGIII now knows that 3 time outs and 1:38 is way too much time for Eli.  The Giants only needed a FG to tie.

Welcome to Eli’s division Rookie!"

I think there's a little too much chest thumping going in your message "Topdog." 1:43 wasn't enough time for Eli in the Philadelphia game, was it?  I think we Giants fans may have trouble differentiating an Eli opportunity with an Eli foregone conclusion.

We got lucky with this 1:33 opportunity.  But it was NOT a guarantee as you imply.  There's no reason to rub RG3's nose in this.  Eli had a bad game.  Let's take the win and move on.

We had lots of mistakes.  Especially down the stretch.  Gilbride got cocky again (like in the Eagles game) by throwing on 3rd & 1 with 3:15 left while the Redskins were down to only 1 timeout.  The clock stopped and we had to punt.  As bad as Eli's second INT was ...the decision to throw on 1st down there (with 7:10 left) was also questionable.

Little things

Cruz is great at making the first guy miss over the middle, but he stopped himself from getting a first down on his catch over the middle before the cocky Nicks target at 3:15.  Little things.

Boley had a stupid personal foul in the 1st quarter.  Locklear had a false start on a big 4th and 1, stalling our first drive at the 40 yard line.  Hixon had a big drop.  Eli had MANY errant passes, including missing a wide open TD to Cruz in the slot with 4:04 left in the 2nd quarter.  We settled for a FG there, 10-10.

The good news?  We played horribly and won.  I am kind of proud of the way our guys spoke in the locker room because it was all sincere praise for RG3, and we knew we didn't deserve to win the game, but got away with it.

As far as "let downs against bad teams"...I don't see that happening.  We don't have any bad teams on our schedule from here on out.

A win is a win.
