RGIII Reloaded: Giants @ Washington

Are the NY Giants (7-4) larger than life?  Are they kind of men who knock over championship teams like Greenbay while catching fans falling out of the stands?  (See actions of Martellus Bennett as reported in NY Daily News.)  Or, are they a bunch of slackers that cannot beat mediocre teams with losing records such as the Bengals who were 3 – 5 in week 9.

Fans will not have long to find out.  This Monday, the Giants will face an even more dangerous Redskins (5-6) team.  Robert Griffin III who threw for 311 yards and 4 TDs in his last game will have one more weapon at his disposal. WR Pierre Garcon was missing in the last matchup with the Giants.  Garcon, who racked up 86 yards and one TD in the Thanksgiving game against the Dallas Cowboys will be active for tonight’s game.

At stake is the lead in the NFC East and building a two game advantage as the Giants hunt for a playoff spot.  There is also the issue of the Redskins avenging their loss to the Giants in week 7 when Eli Manning connected to Victor Cruz with a 77 yard TD with less than 2 minutes of game time remaining.

Redskins Cornerback DeAgello Hall was dismissive of the game winning catch by Cruz stating that catch was not "rocket science" and that he could have made the pass according to Newsday.

Never the less, Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora told the Daily News that this is an important game based upon the Giants schedule which includes the Saints (5-7), the Falcons (11-1), the Ravens (9-3) and finally the Eagles (3-9).

“…if we lose this game, we might not win our division because of the teams we have coming up ahead,” Umenyiora said.
