Giants Display Resolve in Win over Rams

By Alex Eagle

Coach Tom Coughlin had a peace button on his shirt below the NY logo and a black strip on his shoulder this Sunday to show solidarity for the two NYPD officers slain this weekend while working in Brooklyn, NY.

“Violence never solves anything,” Coughlin said after the game.

And, yet…

This week, the Rams (6-9) defense tried to test the toughness of the NY Giants and the rookie WR Odell Beckham Junior by knocking and chipping Beckham around.  Matters came to a head when Rams Defensive Linebacker Alec Ogletree (#52) knocked Beckham way out of bounds then Ogletree shoved and taunted Beckham while he was down.

Ogletree is 6’ 2” and 242 pounds while ODJ is 5’ 11’’ 198 pounds.  But, Beckham neither backed down nor escalated the incident as reporters and cameraman dodged, ducked and weaved the Giants jerseys which rallied to Beckham’s aid.

Here at last was something the Giants were willing to fight for in their (6-9) Lost Season.

WR Preston Parker and DE Damontre Moore were ejected from the game.  The Star Ledger reported that Ogletree denied the hit after the tackle.

Still, OBJ finished the game with 148 yards, two TDs and the GMen may finally be able to claim some small shred of dignity.

Perhaps someone should tell Coughlin to jump on the team and come in for the Big Win.  Next week, the Giants face The Eagles (9-6).
