NFL Draft: Giants Have Cake, Eat It with Eli at QB

By Eeeeeeeeegs

We have a franchise QB whose greatest strength is his ability to see the entire field and make the correct read, even if it's his 5th progression.  We also need to protect him better.  We needed a 3rd WR option and a center.  We have also had trouble in short yardage situations, so we drafted a power RB in the 4th round.

We addressed some serious needs.  Let's see if they are any good.

As for Michael Sam.  Of course the Rams and the NFL knew they were participating in a watershed moment by drafting the first openly gay player.  Do you think they (particularly the Rams) knew that he was going to smear cake on his boyfriend's face and make out with him during the ESPN live coverage?  If the answer is "Yes, the Rams knew."  That's a pretty ballsy PR move.  If the answer is "No, the Rams did not know about the cake/kiss stunt"...then that's pretty interesting, too.

If Johnny Manziel had smashed cake in his girlfriend's face and made out with her upon being drafted, how would the NFL community and sports media have received that display?  I wonder.
