Big Blue Coup D’Etat?

This past Monday, Eli Manning told ESPN that he thought that Preston Parker was doing fine and that he would keep throwing to the butter fingered WR.

However, that is going to be difficult as the Giants dropped Parker this Tuesday
.
This has led some to wonder if Manning has been deposed in a similar fashion to the 1991 Coup against Mikhail Gorbachev.  Gorbachev had been at his vacation home in the Crimea.

The Soviet Coast Guard stayed loyal to the Premier buying him some extra time    However, the Coup organizers tried to arrest Boris Yeltsin, the President of Russia who was near Moscow at the time.

Yeltsin asked his security detail to take him to the government building (“the White House”) right away.   When he arrived, he climbed a tank and read a message stating that the actions of the coup leaders were illegal.  Barricades were set up to prevent a military assault

T he KGB ordered the elite Alpha brigade to begin an assault.  For the first time in history, however, the unit took a vote and declined the mission.
Tanks, moved into Moscow.  Normal TV was dropped and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake played on every channel.

Gorbachev’s personal detail loaded live ammunition and began to prepare to defend the Crimea residence. People drank Borscht.

Then, Russian citizens blocked tanks and armored cars around Moscow and began a general strike.  A political ally flew Gorbachev back to Moscow.  But, he returned to a changed Russia.

Who is calling the shots  back at MetLife ?  Coughlin?  Mara? Goodell?
